Production Manager

The Production Manager is responsible for managing cross-functional projects, including timelines and communication.  The position is also accountable for project and production planning, including resource estimation and allocation, including financial and personnel, for each company project. Work will include general project planning and timing for new collections, as well as specific production management of associated assets, such as photography, copy, campaign materials, and other marketing pieces.  This position will be essential in helping the organization continue to grow and accomplish KPI goals through creation and execution of cross-functional project plans.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Additional duties may be assigned.  Management retains the discretion to change or add to the duties of this position.

  • As the point of contact on assigned projects, performs a variety of highly skilled duties such as: assembling, coordinating and updating multidisciplinary teams, including holding team members accountable for task completion within projects
  • Assist in developing departmental plans, goals, objectives, policies and procedures
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget
  • Develop project scopes and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring feasibility
  • Ensure resource availability and allocation
  • Create a detailed project plan to track progress and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Use appropriate verification techniques to manage changes in project scope, schedule and costs
  • Measure project performance using appropriate systems, tools and techniques
  • Report and escalate to management as needed
  • Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders
  • Perform risk management to minimize project risks
  • Handle all outside production needs for marketing, such as quotes and coordination of photo retouching, printing, Web programming, and the like
  • This position does require minimal travel to attend trade shows and do press checks or production checks outside of the office

 

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

  • 4+ years in a project management role with increasing responsibilities
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business or related field; MBA a plus
  • PMP certification strongly preferred
  • Creative problem solver with strong business acumen
  • Strong analytical and strategic skills
  • Excellent attention to detail, superior communication, presentation and follow-up skills
  • Ability to build effective partnerships and interact successfully with diverse individuals at all levels
  • Ability to make prudent decisions under pressure and deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task projects with equal priority
  • Experience with MS Project, Asana, Jira or other project management application required
